Medical Student Programs
The Internal Medicine residency program at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford, MS, will offer four blocks of four-week Internal Medicine rotations in the upcoming academic year.
Application Criteria
Internal Medicine rotations are open to medical students who meet all of the following criteria:
- 4th-year medical students at a LCME- or COCA-accredited medical school
- Students who plan to specialize in Internal Medicine
- Students who intend to apply to the BMH-NM IM Residency program in the 2026/2027 Match cycle
Deadline May 31, 2026
Please be prepared to provide:
- Your CV
- A brief statement highlighting your interest in Internal Medicine and why specifically a rotation with the BMH-NM Internal Medicine residency program, including career goals, connections to the Mid-South region, interest in the hospital/Baptist system, etc.
- Rotation date availability / preferences
- An attestation that you fit the above application criteria.
Timeline
- May 31: Deadline for rotation applications
- June-July: Program faculty members will review applications
- June 15: All rotations for first two blocks confirmed, candidates notified of status.
- July 31: All remaining rotations confirmed, candidates notified of status. Wait list created in case of cancellations

October 19 – November 15 - Option 4
November 16 – December 13
Experience
Each student chosen for an Internal Medicine rotation with the BMH-NM Internal Medicine Residency Program will alternate between weekly experiences in various clinical settings, including Inpatient and Clinic rotations. Students will participate in daily didactic sessions, and various other special offerings.
Acceptance for an Internal Medicine rotation qualifies the 4th-year medical student for an interview with the program during the residency Match season.
Onboarding Information and Requirements
Upon confirmation of your rotation, you will be provided with a list of required documentation, onboarding details and a timeline of due dates for these items prior to the beginning of your rotation.
An Affiliation Agreement must also be in place with your home institution and Baptist. Please note that this can take four weeks or more to complete.
If you do not fit the above criteria:
At this time, we are unable to offer any rotations / observerships for the next academic year through June 2027 for anyone who does not qualify for the audition rotations listed above.
