Audition Rotations
Selection Underway for 4th-Year Medical Student Audition Rotations
The Internal Medicine residency program at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford, MS, will offer a limited number of four-week audition rotations in the upcoming academic year. Audition rotations are open to 4th-year medical students from LCME- or COCA-accredited schools who plan to specialize in Internal Medicine and are interested in applying to the BMH-NM residency program in the 2024/2025 Match cycle.

Resident Physicians gathered at the Farmstead at Woodson Ridge in Oxford, MS, for their very first well-being retreat. The trainee-led committee planned events and learning sessions aimed at building comradery, fostering leadership, and bolstering wellness amidst the rigors of residency training, all while enjoying fellowship with each other away from work.

Two New Chief Resident Physicians Selected for Next Academic Year
PGY2 resident physicians Kelley Bellia, DO, and Zachary Ellis, DO, were selected as Chief Residents and will serve in the leadership roles in the upcoming academic year. To support the expansion of the program and full complement of 36 resident physicians, the position was opened to two trainees this year.

PGY3 Dr. Shravanti Muthu travels to Kenya on Global Medicine Elective
In her final year of Internal Medicine training, PGY3 Shravanti Muthu, MD, elected to spend a rotation block traveling to Kenya with a group of physicians affiliated with Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation for a Global Health experience. She and the other Baptist attending and trainee physicians filled a supportive role working alongside Kenyan medical providers and gained experience through their interactions with patients and medical professionals at various clinical sites.

The future of diabetes in Mississippi looks a whole lot brighter with the recent development of the Mississippi Diabetes Network and Diabetes Solutions services. The vision for the Network developed from the initial success Diabetes Solutions had among patients utilizing its services.
