We are pleased to announce the inaugural class of Internal Medicine Resident Physicians at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. These resident physicians will complete a three-year residency training program, the mission of which is to train clinically and procedurally competent physicians in the specialty of Internal Medicine who will provide high quality, safe, cost-effective, and patient/family-centered care for adults in North Mississippi, upholding the greater Baptist Memorial Health Care mission of "Healing, Preaching and Teaching.”

The twelve incoming clinicians each meet the program’s mission in their own unique way and already hold impressive accomplishments in their personal journeys toward careers in medicine.

They matched with BMH-NM in the National Resident Matching Program’s Main Residency Match after a rigorous recruitment, interview, and ranking process that took place from October – February. The program received over 340 applications, and a committee comprised of program leadership and core faculty physicians conducted over 110 interviews to determine a ranked list of trainees to fill the 12 positions. The new resident physicians will begin an orientation process in mid-June this year before starting their clinical rotations on July 1, 2021, and will serve communities in our region for years to come.
