A new residency Match season opens soon, and potential new resident physicians will once again be welcomed to visit and explore Oxford, MS, throughout the fall and winter. Applications open for program leadership to begin viewing on Wednesday, Sept. 25, and faculty recruitment committee members will review the candidates’ packets. Interview offers will begin being made shortly thereafter.

The new PGY1 trainees who match with the program will begin their training in July 2025 after an orientation period in June 2025. Once again, the program will conduct in-person interviews so that applicants will be able to experience all that the town, hospital, and surrounding areas have to offer. Visits are scheduled on the following dates: 

Current resident physicians will host a social event on the Oxford Square for the interviewing candidates on the evenings before each interview day. This allows the opportunity for the trainees to get to know their potential co-residents in a casual setting. On the interview days, the group will spend time in the hospital and in the Baptist Medical Group – Oxford Internal Medicine Clinic learning about day-to-day flow, curriculum, attending didactics, and interviewing with program faculty and leadership. After a welcome breakfast and Town Hall session, they will break into groups to progress through their schedule that rotates between interviews, hospital and clinic tours, and resident physician roundtables. The goal for a typical interview day will be to bring in 20 candidates across each of the six dates above. 

Any physicians on the general medical staff who are available are welcome to attend the informal meet and greets from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. on each of the interview dates. We encourage you to mark your calendars and find time to meet them. 

After the visits and interview days conclude, rank order lists from both the program and applicants are due to the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) by March 5, 2025. Match Week begins Monday, March 17, 2025, culminating in Match Day on Friday, March 21, 2025.
