Jacob Whelan, MD, Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi, was recognized as an outstanding medical leader at the SCP Health Medical Leadership Conference in September.

Dr. Whelan and several other colleagues were honored with the Excellence in Leadership Award by SCP Health, a company that provides ER and Hospitalist staffing nationwide, including at Baptist North Mississippi. Dr. Whelan serves as Assistant Medical Director for the Hospitalist group at BMH-NM. Nominated by key leaders within SCP, they were chosen for their “consistent demonstration of superior leadership and proven results at their hospital facility and with the organization, and have achieved the highest level of leadership and performance in their role,” according to a SCP press release.
