Alfred-John Bayaton

I was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States in 2004 when I was thirteen years old. I consider myself a Filipino-Texan. I love George Strait, brisket, and wearing cowboy boots. After completing my BS in Biology at the University of Texas at San Antonio, I moved to Clinton, MS, to get a masters at Mississippi College. That's where I met folks who were from Oxford or went to Ole Miss. After taking me to visit The Grove and a couple football games, I've been yelling Hotty Toddy ever since. In a world where sickness did not exist, I would have liked to be a high school science teacher, a journalist, or a behavioral economist. I have a passion for lifting weights, mixed martial arts, and live music. In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports, reading non-fiction narratives, and sharing a meal with friends. More than being a kind, empathetic and competent physician, I aspire to be the person my co-workers enjoy working with.

Kyle Bellu

I am a living Highlander of Scotland, native of a small fishing village on the Isle's North East Coast. As a youth, I spent 2 years as a professional soccer player for Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League, also representing the Scotland National Team at U15, 16 and U17 levels. In 2015, I moved to the USA and attended Hofstra University in New York, where I played on the University's soccer team. Later that year, I made my way to Memphis, Tennessee, to attend Christian Brothers University, I was a student athlete there prior to graduating in 2019 and I have lived there ever since.
Three years on, and I am a third-year medical student at William Carey University. My fiancé is a Cardiac Transplant RN, and together we are first time dog parents to Makai, a very mischievous Pitbull we rescued last year. In my free time, I volunteer with Youth Villages America, conduct research at Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics, and I am an avid 5k runner.

Kevin Do

Hi my name is Kevin Do. I was born and raised in California where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of California in Riverside, CA, in 2017 and 2018, respectively. I am currently interested in going into cardiology but am looking forward to learning as much medicine as I can on all my rotations. My hobbies include working out, playing basketball, hanging out with friends, and playing video games.

Bobby Jo Hansen

You’ll find out quickly by talking to me that I am not a Mississippi native. I grew up in a rural community in Nebraska. I completed my undergraduate work at Wayne State College, where I met my husband, Aarron. I love reading, going for walks, and spending time serving the community with my church. My specialty interests are Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics.

Negin Meshkati

Guten Tag! I was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. My father who is a practicing physician believed I would receive a better medical education in the United States. After finishing high school in Berlin, I moved to Ft. Myers, Florida, and attended Florida Gulf Coast University where I received my BS in Biology.
I applied to Oxford as my clinical hub site because of the wonderful stories fellow classmates have shared about the town. Southern warmth and hospitality is something I’ve grown fond of, and I was told there would be plenty in Oxford. I am also looking forward to getting a small slice of home and living in a walking, vibrant area.

In my spare time I like to read, eat delicious cuisines, and be outside doing something active! Above all, I love people and hearing about their unique stories. A southern lady once told me “I’ve never met a stranger,” and I’m very much looking forward to not meeting any in Oxford.

Abboud Sabbagh

I was born and raised in Aleppo, Syria where I lived until 2013. I then moved to Egypt for a year before settling in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2014. I was drawn to medicine early in life, witnessing the shortage of health care workers, access, and advocacy in Syria. In my spare time, I enjoy playing basketball, soccer, and running. A fun fact about me is that I learned much of my English by binge-watching Friends, which is now one of my favorite shows!

Abigail Stallings

I am from a small town in north Alabama named Centre, Alabama, where our largest claim to fame is being the “Crappie Capital of the World” with our beautiful Weiss Lake. Since high school, I knew my future endeavors involved challenging myself by pursuing the medical field. So, when arriving to the University of South Alabama for my bachelor’s degree, I sought a degree that would be useful for my need to challenge me and was on the hunt for a way to involve myself in medicine. I found an incredible opportunity working at Women’s and Children’s Hospital on the Pediatric Oncology floor in Mobile, Alabama, where I was able to shadow physicians, help the staff, develop relationships with the patients and their families. I was able to learn how being a physician is both the most rewarding and the most challenging position one could place themselves in, and where my love for medicine really blossomed. Due to how much I loved my job, throughout my undergraduate experience, I sought out many other shadowing opportunities. I wanted to see many different specialties, see the operations of offices and clinics since my only experience had been in a hospital, including family medicine and surgery. I am particularly interested in primary care.

I still take time to do my hobbies between school and studying. I have played tennis since I was a child and continue to do so as an outlet for exercise, relaxing the mind, taking a break from studying. And if I am not on the court, I also love to bake to take a break from stress.

Cody Stalnaker

Hello, My name is Cody Stalnaker and I’m a 3rd year medical student at WCUCOM. I grew up in Pensacola, Florida, and pursued my undergraduate degree at the University of West Florida where I received my bachelors in Biomedical Science. I have a deep passion for the field of medicine and I find an interest in most all specialties. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to become a physician. Growing up, I was fortunate to have two Physician role models: my father and grandfather. It was their passion and love of medicine which inspired me to pursue the career. Outside of school, I enjoy most all things that involve the water or exercising. I love fishing, paddle boarding, surfing, biking, and weight lifting. It was a tough pill to swallow leaving most of my hobbies behind in Pensacola, but luckily there is always a place to bike or exercise. Throughout my last two years in medical school, I’ve worked especially hard to learn and apply as much as I can during my clinical years. Through my love of science and insatiable curiosity for the field of medicine, I look forward to brining compassion, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn toward any rotation I attend.
